Joan's Star is part of the MOMO collection. The Joan in question is Miró, who littered his drawings with the symbol and referred to it as part of his “cortège des obsessions”. Simple yet freighted with symbolism. It happened quite on its own one day, playing around with some cuttings of thin-gauge up-cycled copper wire. The red/black backdrop accentuates the Spanish theme, reminiscent of bull-fighting, Friday nights in Madrid, and Rioja wine.

I use thick 4mm transparent glass here, in two layers, painting in between and collaging with metal inclusion. Some of the pendants in this line are one-of-a-kind and some are production -- this is a production design, which means Edo and I make it repeatedly in small batches of 20 or so at a time. Therefore, expect slight variations from what you see in these photos, as every piece is inherently unique.

The bail is silver-plated brass with a lacquer finish to protect it and to minimize tarnishing. NECKLACE IS NOT INCLUDED! It can  be purchased separately.
